3:00 pm - 4:30 pm - Minimize Downtime During Oracle Database Migrations and Upgrades
Speaker : Susan Wong
Perhaps your company has participated in a merger or acquisition and is experiencing a related data center consolidation. Or you may be considering a change in hardware platform, operating system or application upgrade. How can you reduce downtime in these situations and allow business to continue while the migration activities occur?
*Summary:
Learn how Oracle database migrations can be performed with minimal downtime, using replication to move a database to a different platform and/or a different version with no overhead on the database and minimal overhead on the database server. The solution also facilitates failback if the new version or platform encounters problems. The replication solution is fault tolerant in that if there are issues in the environment like network downtime or server/database problems, replication will stop at that point and then resume where it left off when environment issues are resolved.
Differentiate this with other replication solutions highlighting included features like monitoring replication streams, and synchronizing utilities to ensure data integrity between source and target.
Learn how this solution can be configured for High Availability and Disaster Recovery as well as for reporting, migrations, data distribution and consolidation, and change tracking
