Description:

Oracle recently announced the Oracle Cloud Free Tier, and this includes collection of fully functional cloud services which are free forever (as long as you use them). In this Hands On Lab, you will create your own free Oracle Autonomous Database and participate in a number of hands-on-labs which cover loading of data into your database, creating REST endpoints to data in your database, and creating and deploying responsive Web applications using the low code application development framework, Oracle Application Express (APEX). If you're familiar with SQL, you know everything you need to know to participate.

Requirements:

1) Participants will need to bring a laptop that has Wifi connectivity, and a modern Web browser installed. We've done workshops at GLOC where their employer had some network lock or McAfee security endpoint - that won't work.
2) The week before the Hands On Lab, I will send instructions for the participants to *pre-provision* their Free Autonomous Database. This way, we won't spend time in the lab waiting for everyone to catch up.

Schedule:

1200 - 1300: Lunch / Setup
1300 - 1400: Overview Presentation
o Introduction to Oracle Autonomous Database
o Overview of Oracle Cloud Free Tier
o Overview of Low Code Application Development, Oracle APEX, and the target use cases for APEX
o What does Autonomous Database bring to the existing Oracle APEX developer

1400 - 1415: Break
1415 - 1630: Hands On Labs
